The clutch seems to work, but this has been out in the elements for a long time, so nothing would surprise me. The output shaft spins freely in nuetral and locks up when in gear as it should. I'll get a helper tonight to see what it does with the clutch depressed.
You're right about the tabs, one is already broken off, maybe from the previous owner's attempt to separate them
