Using for recovery only, I have no heat issues. If I was using it for logging or something of constant use a larger tank woudl be needed. I have read in a hydraulic handbook that the tank should be 3 gallons for each gallon per minute pump discharge.
My winch drums turn very close to a shaft driven Braden.
