Hi Doug,
I wouldn't say it's dying, it takes a lot of time,money and resources to put an event of this scale on every year.
Attendance does go up and down,with maybe a reoccurring decline, but I believe the economy and fuel prices have a large part in that.
Also,
When your trying to manage a business,employees ect. I can see were you would get burnt out after time.
I think that's what happened a few years ago.
Luckily a small group stepped in and produced it. I believe when all said and done they too were in awe of the effort involved.
That's the way I see it.
Other's may have a better opinion.
