It's coming along. I used a muffler adapter to neck it down from 2 3/8" at the knuckle to 1 3/4" tubing. It will fit in the stock notch in the dash. This pick shows the angle it will mount at.
And I was able to shorten the 'collapsible column' components to shorten the overall length without sawing and welding the shaft. And now I can stretch it to suit my install and my comfort. Almost a tilt/telescope column, which I didn't think I had room for.
A new lock cylinder cost $13 with two keys. I didn't figure I could get a new key cut for that, even with the code stamped into the cyl.
I'm a happy camper. Not only is progress being made, but it looks like it is all in the right direction.
