The tracks are 18" wide with cleats only on the outer 3" of each track, so climbing 12" plank would be tough. I'm thinking my ramps need to be at least 24" wide, with cross-pieces that the cleats can grab onto. Solid slabs of wood just end up being too heavy to handle. If I had a pair of "bed extensions" that were lightly bolted to the bed, so I could remove them if I wanted to put the tail gate up, I could make the back ends of them so I could easily hook the ramps onto them. The whole contraption needs to be something I can man-handle in the snow with mittens on and that isn't too critical about alignment for driving up.

The thing that I expect will save me in the design is that the tracks are about 6' long and are supported for their entire length by the pontoons (120 track rollers on each side of each track), so the weight is spread out rather than being concentrated in a single point like with a wheeled vehicle.
