When I bought my PW, the bed was about 18" too short for the frame, and was rusted out. I only saved the bed corners, and used them to make my own bed. I did buy the gate and front panel, but made everything else. The sides are 14 gauge steel, the round tube on top of the sides is electrical conduit welded to the sides. The cross members are 16 gauge galvanized 2" square tubing. The bed is pressure treated 5/4 board. I bought stainless bed runner strips from MAR-K to go between the boards, but still have to put them in.
The fenders I bought for $30 each from Kampco. The bed is 4 x 8, I chose not to cut wheelwells into the bed sides, but I had to buy 13" wide fenders to make up the difference.
Also, the Dodge emblem on the front was homemade. We laser cut them at work out of 3/16" steel. I powder coated them at home with my Eastwood powder gun and a free giveaway electric stove/oven I keep in the garage.
I'm pretty happy with the way it's turning out. It's not original for sure, but I saved a fortune on the rescue of this PW from the scrapyard.
