That looks familiar. Hard to tell about the switch contacts from your picture. I had one recently with the same switch, contacts all burned out. The proper replacement switch isn't made any more and I couldn't get any of the available ones to fit. Ended up putting a ford relay on the firewall, and adding a push button for the starter, so now it's "push pedal to engage, push button to crank, release pedal and button when it fires". That'll fool the thieves. Not that anybody's going to steal it seeing as how it threw a rod shortly afterward. The Ford starter relay has the nice advantage of letting you bypass the ballast resistor while cranking, for a better spark.
As for the switch, it's just a big hunk of copper with a triangular sort of end that wedges down between the bolt on top of the starter motor and the bolt coming through the switch housing. It should be obvious looking at it if it's burned up. Not sure if those copper brushes are still available or not. The commutator looks good, so they probably weren't arcing, which happens if they're either worn too short or the armature has shorted turns. If the switch is all you need, you didn't have to take it apart for that. Also for future reference, you can just take the switch off, get some jumper cables and clamp one to the housing and touch the other to the copper bolt under the switch housing. If the starter's good, that should spin it.
