I believe I have another blown head gasket in my M37. I have always had good luck with the NOS ones, but this engine may be rough on head gaskets.
The first head gasket I put in dry, it leaked before the engine ran. Then I had the head trued, and measured the deck and it was within spec. I then put in an NOS head gasket, and sprayed on a coat of Coppercote. This seemed to work well, but I am getting a lot of white smoke, and lots of moisture out the exhaust. The oil and antifreeze are both clean.
So, my question is, are new production head gaskets like Felpro, Victor etc any better than the old NOS copper gaskets?
Thanks,
Tim
