Yea, the water pump on mine is certainly not from 1956. The back plate was held on with four bolts that were 10 mm... And, I still don't understand why that back plate is not machines flat and a bit thicker... I almost made my own up out of 3/16" stainless or aluminum. I suspect my back plate is about as flat at the moon...
