I never care for those studies because they are a measure of initial quality only and are only looking at the first 10K or so miles. They are only measuring assembly quality not the long term reliability of the vehicle. It also appears they record "problems" but I can't find that they include severity. So I think a high failure rate of power window motors is no better than a high failure rate of transmissions. I may be wrong on this but I have a much higher tolerance for problems that I can drive home with than I do for problems that require riding the flatbed.
