I have for heat a Thelin parlor stove. It is my only heat. It runs 24Hr aday from November to April. I us a little over 4 tons a year. My house is about 1700sqft. It is 2 story and old built 1865. It still has the original single pane windows. On low it keeps it at 66 when it is like today at 17 with the wind blowing and snowing. I'm in Virginia City Nevada at 6200ft.If you go with a pellet stove, have spare parts on hand like blower motor, augar motor and control switch. I have a battery backup so when the power goes out.
