Make sure there is a clear title.
You could have the balance held in escrow by an attorney who would release the money upon your receiving the truck.
Or, you can use a transport service that will bring the balance to the owner when the truck is loaded for transport. I did this by wiring the money to the transport companies account and they gave a check to the owner when they picked up the truck.

They could not be any more honest and accommodating. Extremely professional. They will also send you a Certificate of Insurance-A MUST HAVE FROM ANY COMPANY!!!
