I found the W300 Crew Cab on a fire dept website last year, it was replaced and sold in 1998 for $150.00.
I spoke to the buyer, who in turn sold it for $150.00. He thought it went to a logging co. "below Virginia" as he said, I wrote it off the books as a gonner.
About Nov. last year, it appeared on the truck trader online. The truck was NOT advertised as a W300, Power Wagon, or even a 4x4 (so S-Bear missed it), but there was enough info about it, ex fire truck, w/winch, 4 door, for me to know exactly what truck it was. When I called the seller, I stepped him thru the truck, and new more about it than he did. I sent the $$$ asap.
It has some fire dept hacking, but is a 21K orig mile truck. The winch that I thought was an MU-2A, is actually a PTO/hydraulic
MGU-5, very big.
318-3 LA, NP 435, Warn Hubs. Pretty good body, but has some W-series expected rust problems. Nice seats, doors, brakes, it is ready to go.
Been driving it around the place tonight, a substantial truck, in my opinion is overshadowed only by a W500.
Rare? per Dave Butler of VPW "never seen a W300 Crew Cab"
