Chris: I would not reccomend towing these trucks don't flat tow well, the tend to wander side to side alot. Plus your 1/2 ton would be hard pressed to stop that load. I drove my stock M-37 on a (160 mile each way) trip last summer, worked out fine leave early stay in the right lane with hazard lights relax and enjoy the drive.
It is actauly kinda fun.
