I'm sure there are folks better suited to answer this question out there; but, what state are you in? In Calif. you need to verify that the vehicle exists ( a trip to DMV or a police verification on the VIN.# ). Then a "Statement of Fact" form is filled out stating how you aquired the truck and all you can provide about the history of it. The couple that I did went pretty smooth once I found someone at DMV willing to take the time and work it out.
