I believe that if you rolled the rear half of a swivel frame truck 180 degrees, you would reverse the direction of travel, thus giving you 4 speeds in reverse and one speed forward. I believe this is how 2X4 trucks are converted to hay rakes in the West. The rear differential is unbolted and then swung around 180 degrees and bolted back up to the spring shackles. This puts the input of the differential at the top of the pumpkin and reverses the gears.
