The 1/2 ton trucks had a Braden model MU with the engagement clutch on the passenger side extending inward. The 3/4 ton trucks had model MU2 with the engagement clutch on the drivers side extending forward. Some parts may interchange but the main shaft, and support legs are different. I am not certain about the civilian PW series..
As far as current value goes...??? Also many early non-winch 1/2 tons were equipped with trannys without the left side PTO access. The winch trucks were fitted with trannys with left side PTO access. So to put a winch on some 1/2 tons you may need the correct tranny.
