Don’t forget the 237 cid (T148) of this series of motors. Thou it was not a spitfire it was a solid Dodge truck motor and had the shortest stroke of all of the flat head block series at 4 and 1/4 inches. Same bore as the 251/265 and shorter stroke than the 218 cid. A motor that is over looked in the engine hunt. Think about it... 4.89 gears, 3/4 cam, higher compression, dual intake/exhaust, balanced and short stroke. A short stroke Spitfire...very smooth. Highway heaven!
Oh yes. An 11“ clutch to boot.
