I think softening up the springs would be a good idea. Not sure I see any downside unless someone is really working their truck hard. I do know that my M-37 rides much better than my PWs. Don't know all the reasons, the geometry of the suspension is probably part of the reason, but maybe the springs are a bit softer too.
I too wonder if anyone has done this and what their experience was.
