Why not just find somebody with a wheel center press to make new budd 5 bolt centers that could be welded into tubless wheels in various wheel widths, that would keep the classic budd look, get rid of the lock ring and let people run wider tires on wider wheels, they could also update the powerwagons open diffs to the new locker offerings by many on the site. First guy who makes a later dana 70 or 80 axle with a 5 bolt budd pattern will prob do ok??? That way new type lockers better axle size and factory discs instead of convering the wm axle?
