Matt the original bolts are marginal for this purpose and will fail if they have been overtorqued in their past. On my truck the heads all popped off but the shafts did not break. They are ok for a stock setup but I think on mine my foot slipped off the clutch in first and the truck lurched slightly forward. It was right after this happened at the next light that it broke apart. I haven't had any issues with the grade 8 bolts , just make sure that you get long enough ones so that the non threaded shoulder area is in the ring and carrier holes. I think they were around 1.5"-1.75" long. Just cut to length and cut off one flat carefully so you don't nick the shaft area of the bolt. Terry
