OT--Any way to find an old truck by VIN?

I'm curious to find out about an old Peterbilt that left my family in '95. I have the VIN, year, and model. Is there anyway to locate it by VIN or determine if it's still in existence or scrapped out by now? I figured if anyone would know, it would be the guys here...
