Let's make something realy clear here, right here and now. There is a whopping 8.00 an hour being paid for this job, so please exclude any fortune that I might be making by doing something for the government. I do the job for the love of Dodge, Mopar, and Chrysler. And even more for my brothers and sisters in arms of wild land fire fighting. It is trully rewarding to be able to present the fire fighters with a remakable piece of equipment, that part of it is priceless. But I am not making any real money by doing it, it is for the shear enjoyment, and learning about something new. Please don't think that I am offended by what you said, because I am not. But I feel the need to shed some light on the fact that some of us retired government workers really do have a conscience to provide the best we can to our future emergency responders. What is really sad is that the new generation of truck builders don't really care about the end product. As long as the check is there at the end of the week, they could care less. I was brought into the whole spectrum of the trucks by some of the most noble Dodge/Chrysler Pioneers that had a genuine interest in making something good for the end user. I am doing my best to uphold their teachings, and trying harder to pass it on to some newbies in the shop. So far, they don't get it. But if I have to build all of these trucks myself, so the folks in the field will be safe, I will not hesitate to do it. Somewhere in the mix of it all, I WILL get Steve Swan's truck done.....maybe even a Challenger...Thanks Jerry, hope to get back to Idaho one day, I just hope it's not on fire next time!
