Driving through rural Colorado yesterday towing an empty 16 foot flatbed, my egt's suddenly were at 1350 degrees. Running a stretch of flat highway doing about 60, definitely not pushing the truck hard. Next thing I notice in my mirrors is thick bluish smoke and no throttle response. Coasted to the side of the road, pushed the clutch in and engine died. Oil level had dropped about half a quart. Water temp never over 180, oil pressure never dropped below 50 psi. Had it towed home and today doesn't even try to fire. Town wagon may be down for awhile.
