yea he was adamant about it and pretty much cleaned Houston Truck and Equipment out of late model ring and pinions and the double bearings and preferred the late model with the self locking pinion nut, for some reason that 8620 rings a bell, was that stamped on the part. I was pretty much clueless and just tagged along to learn what I could, plus he rebuilt all my gearing and 230 in my 47 wdx
after he cleaned out houston truck and equipment he would buy from the dealer back then you could still get them and the double bearing from the dealer up until about 78 or so
