Baldor has both 1725 and 3600 rpm buffers, none of them variable speed as far as I know. A nice trick is to find a 3 phase buffer/grinder, which are often cheaper because most people don't have 3 phase, and run it on an inexpensive Teco VFD. A VFD gives you variable speed capability, and lets you run 220v 3 phase motors on 220v single phase power.
