I doubt that the customer asked for any of those, but asked for more ground clearance, more load caring capacity, better tire selection options, or perhaps the dreaded I want it to look like a monster truck.
Now if you asking about the design studio guys who go on looks, not function, then yep they just go for looks and expect the bean counters and engineers to deal with the consequences.
