More ground clearance and higher road speed. Bigger tires are usually the cheapest/easiest way to get an extra inch of clearance or an extra 5 mph top speed if you have to buy new tires anyway and you can get some that are a little taller and fit the same wheels. It can get out of hand pretty fast, though, with new/custom wheels, spacer blocks, fender cut-outs, broken axle shafts, messed up steering geometry, worse handling, etc.
