Nice comments, Bob. I can see things both ways, too. My parents taught me to never ask a person what they paid for something. They also taught me that it was rude to wear a hat in the house or other building. They taught me to offer my seat to an older person or a lady. Keep your elbows off the table. Finish the food on your plate. Children were to be seen and not heard. And "politically correct" meant nothing to my dad when it came to slapping me on the side of the head when I did something stupid.
For some reason (good or bad) many of these "social graces" have been left by the wayside. The difference now is the world has become far more open and public. You can expose your life and your opinions to the entire world by a few typed out words on this and millions of other forums. So I guess we all have to learn to be more receptive to the changes that are going on.
