Ahh, yea... that's a little much. Good Lord, I haven't even used filler that thick. I basically sanded off all I sprayed till it looked like a hazy cloud pattern all over. I spent about a month on just metal tapping on the cab.
Whoever did that one was going to have problems with whatever they used on a flexing piece with no support. Common sense has to come in play with anything as you said.
