Born with a lead foot, I have had to dig deep for excuses for being above the limit, especially in high school. One time, I was racing some out of town guys in my So Cal home town, and the local motorcycle officer gave me a ticket for "Speed Contest", which netted a pretty high fine. He told me to wait and went to the other car. After about 10 minutes another patrol car showed up, they put the guys in the other car in the patrol car, and off they went. The first officer came back to me, took the ticket back, scratched out "speed contest", and wrote 35 in a 25 zone. He then told me to tell the judge I had taken some ex-lax and was hurrying home to use the toilet. I was about 22 or 23 and wasn't about to tell the judge something like that, so I paid the fine, which was still smaller than it would have been.
