We always considered AMOCO 'white gas'. People around here swore by it for use in outboard motors; less plug fouling. Also used it in our Coleman lanterns and for thinning oil paint. (cheaper THEN than paint thinner) Some zone marking paint actually called for white gas as a thinner.
