I used a motion sensing switch on the lights that come on when I open the door. It's nice when you come in the door with your hands and arms full of stuff.
I was also told by my local electric supply that the industry was moving toward 8' fixtures with four 4' tubes. These are what I am using now whenever adding or replacing fixtures. They are very bright and less awkward to handle. I think they are made by Lithonia.
