I'm convinced. Aluminum sounds great but won't cut it in the long run. For my bed rebuild I'm going with 1/4 steel diamond plate (400lbs) but about half the price of the aluminum. I'll still use 5 front to back 1/2 x 2 x 1/8 steel channel to support the steel and get me the 3/4" bed depth.
