I take that back that if you could turn it around it would not be an advantage. i suppose it would give you an advantage but only way to do taht would be to weld a piece on top that extended backward to the mount holes on the block mount. why do all that when you can just drill 2 pieces of 3/8 steel and be done with it. mo mods necessary to any stock parts. I prefer to bolt htings rather than weld. for 2 reasons. I am not a good welder so any real important welding needed I have to get a buddy who is certified to do it, and in many cases bolts and rivets are stronger by 15 plus percent.
