if your float sticks open on the carb and the electric pump does not have a automatic shut off built into the system the same thing happens. maany a hotrod have burned to the ground because of electric fuel pumps. I had one diaphram fail on a WC and it did not fill the crank case it pumped fuel out of a vent hole. I dont htink the way the Dodge flathead pump is set up that fuel could get in very easy.
