Diamond plate bed experience or pictures

Im looking for alternatives to the traditional wood bed refurb.

Has anybody here done a diamond plate metal bed? Your thoughts and pics appreciated.

I'm a stock kinda guy so whatever I do has to be reversible and no permanent structural changes (welding included).

I was thinking 1/4 carbon steel diamond plate in strips (easier than hefting a 400 lb sheet) with front to back 1/2 channels running on top of original cross members and 3/4 bed runners joining the diamond plate with countersunk tapered head bolts running through the new channel and old cross members.
