It would be better to adapt a modern axle to the original hub wheel pattern. The beauty of the PW is the old style 5 lug budd wheels. To go the other way just for the sake of more modern wheels, You would be better off getting surplus axles out of a CUCV on something in the one ton GM range and swapping them in.
