Possible yes. Recommended no. A 4BTA with a mild tune will produce more power, fit better, and drive better. If the 4bt is too noisy use a QSB cummins, its common-rail. I just went through this on a 58 Jimmy. Stopped half=way through and put in a 4bt instead. Sure am glad I did too.
