I think those pilot houses look great with those axles. too bad it didn't become a standard procution rig. Buddy of mine has a 48 half ton and is considering putting in an extra set of early 3/4 ton WC axles that I have lying around. would save me from having to move them.
The WDXs and on were available with 4.89s and small tires like you say and one way to tell if a truck came that way is the speeds on the road speed data plate are different.
