I remember my first winter here in North Idaho.
I had a '65 Ford, F250 4x4, stepside, with the Ford logo shaped tailights, and exposed wires emerging from under the bed to the back of the tail light. It wasn't long before I had accumulated slush from the rear tires spraying on the tail lights, which developed into a frozen solid mass of ice, all hanging from the exposed wire. This required some re-routing and tying of the wires. Hopefully you aren't in a snow area there in sunny San Mateo.
