Not sure the Germans can claim ownership. There was a bloke here who had an old truck running on wood gas in the early 20's - anyway - they were common here during WW11. Dad took his off the truck about '47 I was told and it sat by the workshop for about 10 years, eventually going for scrap when the old place was cleaned up and sold.
