The fenders on the back of a half ton will swap out with half ton civilian full fenders, in fact a number of companies sold off civilianised half tons post war by fitting full fenders all round.
There is an image out there of a prototype half ton Carryall, presumably from late 1940, that has fenders halfway between the two, sort of civilian fenders really cut back. I think that truck has a winch too - they were probably just assessing all the options and combinations.
