Clint - You can remove the nuts from the present locations and replace with a stack of washers to make the heater sit level, then put the nuts on the engine side of the firewall. The only things I see that you may be missing are the washers that will go under the nuts on the engine side of the firewall.
That was my idea after I could not find any 7/8 fine thread nuts locally. I did go through one rib, and one not. Might make the special washers, or just use some of the flat's I picked up.
gmharris - Interestingly, the large wedge shaped piece was mounted on the inside against the firewall pad.
Based on the wear and condition of the parts, I figured the wedge goes inside the vehicle, and that was where I expected to mount it.
