The smaller the size of the tank, the more the compressor will run when lots of air is being used.
I have a Eaton Compressor with a true 7.5hp motor and 120 gallon horizontal tank. I can shoot paint on a entire truck with the compressor only coming one one time. Buy the largest you can afford, you will never be sorry
