Is that a 5 hour drive at 60MPH which can turn into a 10+ hour drive at 30MPH in a PW.
How tall a person is can effect the comfort in a PW cab.
I have a stock 53 PW and recently took a 5 hour drive from Lee, Mass to NJ, (157 miles at 30MPH). At 5'10" I was comfortable. I did not get out of the truck with back pain or any other problems.
My seat springs took all the shock even though I bounced in the seat, I never felt any jolts to my back.
A modern comfy seat may not be so shock absorbant even though it may come with arm rests and a cup holder!!
The is no room to recline a modern seat. You can over come the right side arm rest by taking a bag full of clothes/towels... and putting it on the seat next to you.
I also have been using the truck for around the area and I enjoy driving a vehicle from a different era!!! Too much fun that I may never fix my 96 F-350!!!!!!!
-Use good tires.
-Maybe an electronic ignition kit(if the distributor has play in it).
Other ideas have already been posted.
