I just went and looked on the VPW site. I see they sell a "NEW Civilian PW Rubber
Cab Mount Kit". The ad does not tell the buyer that the kit is intended only for the mid 1950 and newer Power-Wagon. This is assuming that they did not produce a "generic kit" that is supposed to be dual purpose - to replace both the later rubber mounts and the earlier wood mounts.
I also see they sell a "NEW Early Closed Cab
Wood Mounting Kits". This is the kit your B1 should have, and it is about half the price you paid for the incorrect kit. However, the application is listed incorrectly on the VPW site. It states that the early kit fits from 1946 to 1953. This is incorrect information. The frames changed in 1950 at the same time the cab mounting system changed.
This is the type of thing that really frosts my cake. We spend all of this time trying to share the correct information with everyone, and STILL bad information gets spread around, sometimes by respected Power-Wagon parts suppliers. If they truely produced a generic kit that replaces the rubber mounts on the later Power-Wagons and is also engineered so you can swap, mix, and match parts to replace the earlier wood kit with rubber, then there should be clear and concise instructions with pictures include in the kit detailing the process.
Everyone makes mistakes, but this one is ridiculous.
