US methanol contract prices remained stable for most of the three months through to July, when a plant outage in Trinidad sparked an 8% jump to nearly a three-year peak for the monthly range.
Methanex posted a 10 cent/lb ($220/tonne) increase for August over July, while SCC posted an 11 cent/lb increase. Historically, the two companies have set the monthly contract range.
