Kaegi,I have that same model saw and I've used it for multiple purposes.. Years ago I put a buffing wheel on it and using buffing compound polished and aluminum intake manifold for a TR-4. I used a masonry blade to cut soapstone tile for my kitchen countertops and I've used an abrasive metal blade to cut steel and aluminum angle and channel. I've replaced the top 3 times using HD board. I've had the saw since 1969
