i have a pertronix in my command car. i like it. cannot be sure if it is better / worse than the hei conversions or modifying a slant 6 dist to fit the engine. it is simple to install. mike johnson, who sold his carryall to maui dave had a hopped up flathead in the truck with all of the goodies. it had,if i recall a dist with a msd box. don't really know how much gain you can get. i was after reliable and eliminating stuck / dirty points from seasonal use.
